We caught up with Ada, a Wastebanc user who shared how joining the platform completely changed how she views recycling.

W: Hi Ada! What was your view on recycling before now?

Ada: To be honest, I didn’t give it much thought. Recycling felt like one of those that “good citizens” do that just took too much time. Between work and life, it just wasn’t on my radar. I used to dump everything into one bin and move on.

W: So, when did you discover Wastebanc?

Ada: I actually stumbled on Wastebanc through Instagram early last year. At first, I thought it was too good to be true, but I decided to give it a shot. I downloaded the app, and it’s been seamless since! I just schedule a pickup, someone comes to my house, collects my recyclables, and I get paid. I mean, who doesn’t love quick cash? I’ve been hooked ever since.

W: Was there a particular moment that really changed how you see recycling?

Ada: Absolutely! The first time I checked my wallet on the app and realized I had made enough to buy lunch just from plastic bottles alone. That was the moment I thought: “Wow, I’ve literally been throwing money away!” Since then, I’ve become more conscious about how much I can recycle every month.

W: Has recycling become more of a routine for you now?

Ada: Oh yes. I have my recycling bags sorted out, I schedule my Wastebanc pickup days, and I even encourage my neighbors to join. It’s oddly satisfying now. Plus, I feel good knowing I’m doing something positive for the environment as well.

W: Any advice for people who are still on the fence about recycling with Wastebanc?

Ada: All i can say is; just start. You have nothing to lose; you also get paid for doing the right thing.

W: Love it! Thanks for sharing your story, Ada!

Do you want to start getting paid for recycling? Download the Wastebanc app today to get started.

Hi Recyclers, It’s been a minute since you heard from us, and today we’re back with something refreshing; a real-life story from one of our amazing users.
